FAQS

PVC end cap moulds are usually manufactured using advanced machining techniques, such as CNC (Computer Numerical Control) milling or EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining), to ensure accuracy and precision in the moulding process.

The lifespan of PVC end cap moulds depends on various factors, including the quality of the mould, frequency of use, maintenance practices, and the type of PVC material being moulded. With proper care, they can last for a significant number of production cycles.

PVC end cap moulds are specifically designed for PVC materials. However, with modifications and adjustments, they can be used to mould other thermoplastic materials with similar properties.

It usually begins with a drawing/sketch or similar samples/prototype. We then collect the data required for an injection mould quote and any special material requirements if you may have, after study of your material & through our interview process. Once we have all of the information we need, we will complete your quote. If the project is approved, we ask for an initial advance payment of 50% of the mould cost to cover material costs, and the mould making begins. When your mould is completed, we will take mould trial & produce a few parts out of it, if you need more samples from mould running, we may supply, it may attract extra cost which is not included in the price of the mould, and when parts are approved, the remaining 50% of the mould is invoiced.

In general, the steps for designing a standard injection mold based on the design of the plastic part would be; Design and analysis of the plastic part to avoid defects (analysis of defectology) Demoldability analysis of the plastic part (verification of undercuts) (location of parting line) Calculation of the shrinkage of the part (material dependent) Cycle Time Calculation Estimation of the Number of Cavities Sizing of the Cavity and Core Plates Sizing and selection of the Feeding System Sizing and choosing the Ejection System Sizing of the mold venting system Sizing and selection of the Cooling System Sizing of sliders and internal pins (if there are undercuts) Minimum capacities of injection machine (Clamping Force and Injection shot)
